About Me
Hi, I'm Holly.
I'm am a photographer with a brain disability (Cavernoma & Epilepsy *details coming soon) who also loves to turn science into art!

I'm never great at these 'About me' or 'ice breaker' openers.
How do you splice your whole being into a small opening sentence or paragraph?
Especially when you're someone like me, who's all about the detail!?

I'm probably best described as an extroverted introvert?
I love people and their stories, but I am also someone who needs to retreat to a quiet place and recharge after a social energy expenditure. I'm creative but I also love science and data.
This all reflects in the art I create.

From the moment I was able to hold a camera (we'll say around the age of 3?) I fell in love with photography.
My mother had polaroid camera's and I will never forget the magic of an "instant" photograph.
Seeing the polaroid develop only a few minutes after being taken, felt like sheer witchcraft to me! I was hooked!
Whenever I could get my hands on a camera I was taking photos. And when I was not taking photos, I was looking at them. I would make friend's and family show me all their family albums, and still today, I'm the only one who get's excited when someone says "do you want to see the photos of my trip?". For me it's like traveling with the people who are in the photo. I can go back in time and almost feel & experience what they were feeling & experiencing when the shot was taken! My inner child still finds this magical!

Photographer's are a weird breed of people. We can be both passionate and analytical, focused on the detail while also having our heads up in the clouds! We are a bit of a paradox us photographers! So it's naturally in-keeping that somehow not only did I spend my life taking photograph's, I also decided I wanted to be a nurse. Two incredibly different subjects, yet rather similar at the same time! Both require attention to detail, people skills, and being appreciative and honoured to bear whiteness to another's story. Nursing also helped me explore the scientific aspect of what makes up a being, and how without photography and art, most of us would not know what the inside of an organic body even looked like, let alone how to take care of it!

(more coming soon!....)
In the meantime, the best way to find out more about me is to contact me and schedule a free get together! What makes you YOU? And how can we work together to best capture that?
Holly xx
