Pyrography
I am the daughter of a carpenter so wood has always been something of a nostalgic safe place for me. The smell and feel of wood immediately takes me back to my childhood of watching my father carve and build wooden objects/furniture. The off-cuttings would then be mulched or burned in the garden. Pyrography is my way of traveling back to that. The smell, the feel of the wood, the uniqueness of each piece.

Many things influence my pyro art , but my main musings are Human Anatomy (as I studied Nursing at University) and the science of Botany & medicinal uses of plants. I took up pyrography after my first documented brain bleed in 2019 caused by a Vascular Lesion inside my left temporal lobe. It was a way of retraining my brain to focus and find relief during the stress and recovery of my condition.
